Fully support integrating hotel phones into the room design!

I love a hotel phone still in-room. Safety is one issue, but can be solved with other in-room options- however, ease and accessibility of service, meeting guests where THEY are - is my primary reason. Now can we talk about the clock?!? How come I never know what time it is without stairing at my phone anymore!

😆 That is such a true observation! I will look at the clock, look at my Apple Watch, and still two minutes later pull out my phone to see the time. 😂 Maybe they should make the clocks look like phone screens.

I still love an in room clock - however it pains me when the time is wrong or alarm hasn’t been turned off from previous guest.

Nothing like a 5 am alarm courtesy of the previous guest!

Oh, wow! That's really surprising! We thought in some areas hotels were required by law to have landlines for safety, but it appears that it's more specific than that. There's a federal law (Kari's Law) that requires hotels and businesses with multi-line units to allow direct 9-1-1 dialing without having to dial another number first. We would also expect hotels to provide in-room phones as part of their "duty of care" to prevent being sued for negligence if an emergency happened and people couldn't call for help.
